Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai

Our products are traditionally handcrafted by artisans in Northern Vietnam. At albert L. (punkt), we see ourselves not only as partners or customers, but also as service providers to these artisans. After all, the idea for our collaboration came directly from them.

Thanks to the impressive commitment of Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, we can implement this special type of collaboration together.

Mai first approached us in 2004 about her project: She planned to support artisans from Northern Vietnam in marketing and exporting their products themselves to achieve economic independence; with the further goal of preserving and promoting traditional craftsmanship. To this end, she founded a company that ensures that the craft businesses produce according to European standards in terms of social benefits, safety, and quality.

Thanks to her studies in German language and literature and international trade, as well as her social commitment to a major aid project in Vietnam, she has all the necessary skills to successfully implement this task. Without Mai's dedicated efforts on site in Northern Vietnam, we would not be able to have these beautiful collections produced in such a sustainable, fair, and superior quality and offer them to our customers worldwide.

Our Producers

The manufacturers of our products are the heart of our company. Khanh produces the raw bamboo products and is responsible for the materials used. His workshop forms the foundation for our high-quality bamboo items. Quyet is the artistic mind who developed the unparalleled method of lacquering our products and is largely responsible for the quality and design of the bamboo and lacquer products in his workshop. He is supported by Lan, who ensures that our lacquers always meet the latest European standards regarding quality and product safety. Together with Mai, we all share the vision of a family business that functions across cultural and geographical barriers, where everyone contributes to moving strongly into the future together.
